Hepca recycling plant in Hurghada, imported from Germany at a cost of LE 35 million, was inaugurated by the Governor of the Red Sea, Major General Ahmad Abdullah in December. Built by Green Tech Egypt, it has high quality machines, smart design, and the latest recycling technology from Holland and Germany. Also an equally important part of the project was the startup of the plant and staff training.
The factory is located in the desert region west of Hurghada. It has a capacity to process 400 tons MSW a day. The city that is estimated to host around 250,000 people produces nearly 300 tons of waste on a daily basis.
The plant has a great impact on the cleanliness of the city and disposal of all waste.
