Egyptian President Abdel Fattah El Sisi  participated in the inauguration of the new archaeological museum opened in Sharm el-Sheikh. The event took place on 31st of October 2020 in the presence of the Saudi prince Fahd bin Sultan and the Minister of Antiquities and Tourism, Khaled el-Annani.
In the exposure of the new museum, the second in the Red Sea, after the newly opened museum in Hurghada, seven halls and over 5,200 carefully selected exhibits representing the diversity of Egypt's culture and history. The museum will be open from 10.00 to 13.00 and after the break, from 17.00 to 23.00 so that tourists who prefer to spend the daytime on the beach can also enjoy the treasures.
The museum was scheduled to open in 2018, but the lack of funds delayed the implementation of the project. The main theme of the museum exposure is the daily life of Egyptians under the reign of the Pharaohs, the nature of the Nile shores and the cult of numerous sacred animals, worshiped in Ancient Egypt.
Another museum will be opened in November this year, in the city of Kafr el-Sheikh, the capital of the province of the central part of the Nile Delta. The museum's exposition has already been created; more than 1200 exhibits, most of which were never before demonstrated to the public, will tell about the great sacred centers of Lower Egypt and, including the city of Buto, one of the oldest cities in Western Delta Nile.
