Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup 2016
The local Stableford qualifying event took place on 14 May 2016 at the Cascade Golf & Country Club. The prize awarding ceremony was spiced up by an outstanding buffet lunch at the prestigious Westin Soma Bay Golf Resort and Spa. It was one of 100 qualifying events in 61 countries. The overall winner was Mohamed Abulfadl, followed by Roger Dally. All players praised the perfectly prepared and selective competition golf course of Soma Bay designed by golf legend Gary Player, and the organization of Turkish Airlines in partnership with Soma Bay and the Westin Soma Bay Golf Resort and Spa. The winner, Mohamed Abulfadl, will join the Grand Final in Belek, Turkey as a guest of Turkish Airlines which will take place between Saturday, the 30th of October and Sunday, the 6th November 2016. Leading players at the Grand Final of the Turkish Airlines World Golf Cup will have the opportunity to progress to play in the Pro-Am at the Turkish Airlines Open with a leading European tour professional. Past winners have had the opportunity to play with Tiger Woods and Rory McIlroy – a once in a lifetime opportunity.
