El Gouna Students for Summer Term in Berlin

Since the beginning of March 2013 the El Gouna students of the Energy Engineering and the Urban Development master's programs are in Berlin for their 2nd term. In March they started with courses in German language funded by the German Academic Exchange Service (DAAD) and after Easter the regular summer term started. The time in Berlin is used not only for the academic programs and language courses. A number of excursions and study visits gives students the opportunity to learn as much as possible about Berlin, its regional neighborhood and important professional institutions and events.

The MSc students of Energy Engineering visited the Hannover Messe on April, 9th, the biggest industrial fair & exhibition world wide. For the past six years HANNOVER MESSE has made energy efficiency in industrial processes a focus of professional interest. Our students got the opportunity to gain a view deep inside leading energy technologies and they could directly contact companies for their internship, which they will complete next summer before they return to El Gouna.
The students of the Urban Development program are working on a term project in the field of urban renewal in one of the eastern districts of Berlin. They have to elaborate a feasibilty study for the development of an “Educational Campus“ in an existing residential area and will take part in the citizens' participation in this area.
